In Ireland, it’s generally legal to record a conversation as long as one party consents. This is under the Interception of Communications Act 1988.
Step 1: If you are part of the conversation, you are allowed to record it, even if the other party doesn’t know.
Step 2: If you are not part of the conversation, you may need the consent of at least one party to record it.
Keep in mind that using such recordings in court or for public distribution can have additional legal implications.
